Traveling by car to Zakopane

It could be a weekend trip to the mountains.

Traveling by car to Zakopane. If you haven't been to Zakopane or have been to the mountains for a while, pack your suitcases in the Tatra Mountains. There is no need to drive very far from home, as beautiful mountain scenery is hidden in neighboring Poland! Plus, you don't have to be a stiff mountain walker to enjoy the stunning views from the peaks! Come on a wonderful trip to see the breathtaking Zakopane, stroll through the mountains and enjoy the panoramic views and bring you all the excitement! The city of Zakopane, located in southern Poland, in the long valley of the Tatra Mountains, attracts many tourists every year, is located a kilometer above sea level and offers a beautiful panorama of Polish nature. Zakopane has things to do in both winter and summer. Zakopane is one of the most popular ski resorts, but for those who don't like skiing, you can go hiking or biking in the warm weather. The cycling trails in Zakopane are the most varied in terms of desires and capabilities, from green to black. Those who decide to climb the mountains will also have a wide variety of choices, from completely easy trails to the very difficult ones that require the appropriate climbing preparation.

Morskie Oko is one of the most visited places in Zakopane. It is the largest lake in the Tatras, located in the Rybie Potok Valley about 25 km from Zakopane. By car or bus you can get to Palenica Białczańska, the remaining 8 km have to be covered on foot or as I mentioned in a comfortable carriage.  This place is popular for its magnificent views of the High Tatras and Rysy Peak. I was under the impression that Poles are obliged to climb to the Morskoe Creek at least once a year. You will meet many people, both old and young, in this section. Take care of food and drink supplies, especially drink supplies, before you go downhill, although this will add weight at first, but you will not regret it in the long run. Climbing up to the Morskoe ok if you still have energy and at least a little physical preparation, be sure to climb to the next lake, Czarny staw pod Rysami. Although this route is marked as a red route, believe me it is definitely worth climbing there.

The road to Zakopane is a long one. It should take 9-10 hours for a trip without very long stops. The roads in Poland are already very good, obviously you will not compare to the German or Austrian roads, but they are not as terrible as they were 5 years ago. Fuel prices are very similar to those in Lithuania, if you drive a gas-powered car, you'll find gas at almost every gas station. If you're counting the pennies, I suggest refueling near Warsaw, where fuel prices are a little cheaper than elsewhere. Food in cafes is slightly cheaper than in Lithuania. If you want to stop by for a coffee break on the trip, I suggest choosing the cafes where the most cages are. Fur drivers tell each other at radio stations where to eat delicious and cheap.

ACCOMMODATION PRICES IN ZAKOPANA

Finding accommodation is certainly not difficult, with many hotels to choose from and private accommodations. We found a decent accommodation for 20 euros per night using the booking app.

I would suggest choosing at least two nights, because one night is definitely not enough. If you haven't been to the Velicka Salt Mines yet, check back in Krakow for an additional one night stay and be sure to visit the Velicka Salt Mines. You can read about the Velicka salt mines here.
